PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
By submitting a timepiece to Horotempus for service or restoration, you agree to the terms set out on this page. If you have any questions before proceeding, we are happy to discuss them with you.
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Horotempus (referred to as "we," "us," or "the workshop") to clients (referred to as "you" or "the client") in connection with watch servicing, repair, crystal replacement, case refinishing, and vintage restoration work.
These terms also apply to your use of our website at horotemp.live. Continued use of the website or submission of a timepiece for service constitutes acceptance of these terms.
2. Service Engagement
A service engagement begins when:
- You deliver a timepiece to our workshop and receive a written acknowledgement, or
- We confirm in writing (including by email) that we have agreed to undertake a particular service.
We reserve the right to decline any service request, including where we believe a timepiece requires specialist expertise beyond our current scope, or where proceeding would not be in the best interest of the timepiece.
For vintage restoration projects, we will discuss the scope of work with you before commencing and will obtain your written agreement before any irreversible work is undertaken.
3. Estimates & Pricing
Our published service prices represent starting prices based on typical cases. The final price for a given service may differ where:
- Additional work is identified once the timepiece has been opened and inspected
- Specialist or period-appropriate parts are required that carry a higher sourcing cost
- The condition of the movement requires more extensive labour than anticipated
In any such situation, we will contact you with a revised estimate before proceeding. Work will not continue beyond the agreed scope without your explicit approval.
All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
A deposit of 50% of the estimated service fee may be requested before work begins on certain services, particularly vintage restoration projects.
4. Turnaround Times
Indicative turnaround times are provided as guidance and represent our typical experience under normal workshop conditions. They are not contractual commitments.
Factors that may extend turnaround times include, but are not limited to:
- Difficulty sourcing parts for older or rare timepieces
- Unforeseen condition issues identified during disassembly
- Workshop volume at the time of intake
We will keep you informed of any material delays and will provide updated estimates upon request.
5. Care & Custody
We take all reasonable care of timepieces entrusted to us. While your watch is in our custody, we will:
- Store it securely in our workshop premises
- Handle it with the care appropriate to its age, rarity, and condition
- Keep a written record of its intake condition
- Not subcontract work to third parties without your prior knowledge and consent
We strongly recommend that clients insure valuable timepieces independently for the period they are in our care. We hold reasonable professional liability cover, but this does not replace the client's own insurance.
6. Parts & Materials
Where original manufacturer parts are unavailable, we will use the most appropriate compatible or period-suitable alternative and will inform you of this.
For vintage restorations, we make every reasonable effort to source period-appropriate components. Where this is not possible within a practical timeframe or budget, we will discuss the available options with you before proceeding.
Parts removed during a service remain the property of the client and will be returned upon request, unless they are considered hazardous or have no practical value.
7. Collection & Delivery
Completed work will be held at our workshop at 23 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur. Collection is by appointment.
If you require your timepiece to be delivered, this can be arranged at your cost and risk. We recommend using an insured courier service for any timepiece of significant value. We will package items with care for transit, but cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage once a courier has taken possession.
Payment in full is required before a completed timepiece is released for collection or dispatch.
8. Service Warranty
We stand behind our work. Completed services are covered by the following:
- Mechanical Movement Overhaul: 12 months from the date of collection, covering the regulated timing function and movement performance under normal use
- Crystal Replacement & Case Refinishing: 3 months from the date of collection, covering workmanship
- Vintage Timepiece Restoration: 6 months from the date of collection, subject to the agreed scope of work
The warranty covers defects directly attributable to our workmanship. It does not cover:
- Damage resulting from impact, water ingress (beyond the original water resistance of the timepiece), or misuse
- Normal wear of components
- Modifications or repairs carried out by any other party after collection
- Pre-existing conditions that were disclosed or noted at intake
To make a warranty claim, please contact us with your service reference number and a description of the issue. We will assess the claim and advise on next steps.
9. Uncollected Items
If a completed timepiece is not collected or payment arrangements are not made within 90 days of our notification that work is complete, we reserve the right to charge reasonable storage fees and, after a further 90 days, to treat the item as abandoned.
We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking any such steps. If you anticipate difficulty collecting your timepiece within the expected timeframe, please let us know so we can make suitable arrangements.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the value of the service fee paid for that service. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses arising from a delay, defect, or failure in our services.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
11. Website Use

We genuinely hope any concerns can be resolved directly through open conversation. If you have a complaint or concern about any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance.
